Anorexia and Bulimia can often come from outside factors, affecting how we feel about ourselves and making us restrict our food intake. One such factor that can lead to the development of eating disorders is trying to fit into a false socially-accepted physical standard. Another, is having a distorted relationship with the body we have.
Recovering from an eating disorder can be difficult and draining. Hypnotherapy provides support by helping to build a healthy mindset to help change the way we view the body that is doing so much for us.
Hypnotherapy can help with eating disorders and food phobias. Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapy will help you to change your negative thoughts around food and replace them with positive thoughts and behaviours.
PAIN MANAGEMENT
Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapy can be used to manage acute or chronic pain.
Whether you are suffering from an injury or ailment such as a headache, toothache or a muscular ache or strain. Hypnotherapy can also help with long term pain such as arthritis.
During hypnotic sessions I can help you to change the way your brain receives the pain and as a result it will help you reduce the intensity of the pain.


IBS
Hypnotherapy is now acknowledged within the wider medical professions as an evidence based therapy that can help reduce the symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome and sometimes alleviate the symptoms entirely. The National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) also lists hypnotherapy as one of the treatments to help with IBS.
PHOBIAS
Phobias are learned behaviours from bad experiences and can be specific (spiders, flying, etc.) or non-specific (panic attacks, agrophobia or social phobia, etc.).
A phobia can stop you doing the things you want to do. They can be triggered by actual events or they can be imagined events. When we have a phobic response we set down templates in the brain, so each time we have a response we set down even more.
During hypnotherapy we disrupt the templates and replace them with new ones. Hypnotherapy can easily treat phobias in three sessions; relaxation, rewind and reframe.


SMOKING CESSATION
If you smoke and want to give up, hypnotherapy could help you to use your imagination to create a non-smoking future. In fact hypnotherapy is one of the most successful ways to stop smoking, because willpower alone is often not enough. Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapy will change the way you depend on cigarettes and help you to achieve that smoke free future.
The smoking session will last for around 90 minutes, followed with a relaxation session one week later which will last approximately 45 minutes. I will send you a smoke free preparation sheet and hypnotherapy recording to listen to before your session, this helps you to start learning how to relax and prepare you for your smoke free future.
ADDICTIONS
An addiction is an urge to do something that is hard to control or stop.
Substance abuse such as alcohol or drugs are the most common addictions but we can become addicted to activities such as gambling, gaming and social media.

Children's
HYNOPTHERAPY
Hypnotherapy is completely natural and safe for children. It can help your child to feel happier and more confident. Hypnotherapy for children is adapted to your child’s age. I will talk to your child about their issues and then we will practice relaxation and hypnotherapy.
The length of this part will depend on the child's age and attention span. I use stories and metaphors to capture the child's imagination. Children are very good at using their imagination and I will encourage your child to engage in active imagination games.
I ask that you stay with your child during the hypnotherapy session. I will talk directly to your child rather than just asking you questions and I ask that you let your child answer in their own way. Older children may want to have the session on their own, but I ask that you sit outside the door which will be left open at all times. Hypnotherapy can help children to deal with a vast amount of problems.
CONFLICT RESOLUTION
Conflicts often occur in our daily lives and if not managed properly can have a negative impact on our relationships. Conflicts can occur at work, with friends, family or even partners.
Hypnotherapy can help you to take a step back, helping you to express your thoughts and feelings, so you can better manage conflicts and find a resolution.
I have completed a specialist relationship repair course and offer individual or couple resolution sessions.


SELF-HARM
Self harm is often a way of coping with painful and upsetting feelings.
